Schenectady Bathroom Complete Gut and Remodel

Objective

Remove bulkhead above tub, flooring to subfloor, wall tile.  Supply and install new bath wall surround.  Supply and install new tile floor.  Supply and install beadboard on walls to height of 4’0” off floor.  Re-install toilet and vanity.

Scope of Work

  • Demolition – Remove shower valve, tub drain, tile on walls and bulkhead above tub enclosure.  Keep small cabinet next to tub area.  Strip tile on walls to plaster, strip floor including vinyl and original tile and mortar bed to subfloor.  Remove toilet and vanity and save for re-use.

  • Framing – Patch ceiling above tub for sheetrock.  Patch subfloor as needed and screw down.

  • Electrical – Replace switchplate covers and outlet covers.

  • Plumbing – Remove and re-install toilet, vanity, and radiator.  Supply and install Kohler brand shower mixing valve, faucet.  Re-use original shower head per owner.  Replace drain assembly on tub with new pop-up drain with overflow.  Drain to be chrome in color.  Replace shower faucet, keep existing shower head.

  • Drywall – Replace drywall where bulkhead above tub/shower was removed and patch walls as needed for paint.

  • Trim – Supply and install beadboard on walls to a height of 4’0” off floor.  Cap beadboard with bullnosed trim, ¼” round at floor.  Re-install original vanity.  Install new doors for small closet next to tub.  Supply and install (2) glass shelves over radiator, (1) glass shelf on left side of mirror.

  • Tile – Supply and install tile on floor (see pictures).  Tile to have Durock sub-flooring.  Grout color TBD by owner.  Replace shower surround with new 6” x 6” white tile with glass strip for focal point.  Supply and install (1) 24” porcelain towel bar in shower, (1) soap dish, (2) porcelain shelves in shower area
